NOIDA is the short form used for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority; it is one of the first planned cities of India. NOIDA is part of the national capital region and is situated in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Noida came into existence in 1976 and was the concept of Sanjay Gandhi. April 17, every year is celebrated as the Noida day. The main aim of developing Noida was to set an urbanized city model that can inspire many other cities in the country.

Noida is 25 km North East of New Delhi, and 20 km North West of Greater Noida. Noida is 457 kilometers away from Lucknow, which is the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. Noida lies between two rivers, which are Yamuna in the West and Hindon in the East.
Noida is situated near the foothills of the Aravalli range, because of which Keekar trees are found easily on the landscape. Noida is also home to Okhla bird sanctuary and Surajkund sanctuary.
