All about Faridabad city
Faridabad is the biggest city in the Indian state of Haryana. It is also the leading industrial hub of Haryana. On 24thMay 2016 the government of India included Faridabad in the prestigious list of smart cities mission. In Faridabad, sector 66 to 89 have been recently developed as the high-class residential and industrial corridor. This coveted corridor lies between the Yamuna River and the Agra canal and is known as greater Faridabad.

A brief history of Faridabad

Geographical location of the city
Faridabad is an integral part of the national capital region (NCR)and is surrounded by Delhi on the north and greater Noida in the east. In the northeast region, it is bordered by Noida. Faridabad is separated from the Uttar Pradesh by the Yamuna River which forms a boundary between the two states.
The climate of Faridabad is similar to other cities in the national capital region. It is summers from the month of April to July and from July to September are the months when the monsoon hits the region. Winter in Faridabad starts from October and lasts till February.

Faridabad is well connected through roads to all the bordering states which include Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Roads that connect Faridabad with other major cities and states are as follows;
Violet line of Delhi metro connects Delhi with Faridabad. The Delhi metro corridor in Faridabad has up to 9 stations in Faridabad. Further plans are being made to connect Faridabad and Gurgaon via metro.

As per the census carried out in 2011, Faridabad’s population was estimated to be 1,404, 653. Faridabad’s population is an educated one and city has the literacy rate of 83 percent.
